Where was I?
Friends.....we have been working for firefighters and those left behind watching over our critters and vines.
We are open again tomorrow, planning on serving mostly in the garden, but you are welcome to stop by and see what we have.
Thank you for your patience as we rebuild whatever fantasy we were operating on two weeks ago!

16 August Menu
We have our signature Wagyu flap from Mishima Ranch. Flap is a relatively obscure cut that is tender and delicious. It will be ready later today for around $13-14 per pound.
Wagyu means Japanese cow.....in this case a Japanese bull. Different Wagyu's come from different geographical areas in Japan. The most famous is Kobe, from the port city. Until Commodore Perry, four legged animals were rarely eaten...they did the work. Kobe steers hauled freight, so had big shoulders and big butts. And, no...they aren't fed beers. The Kirin brewery is in Kobe, and the critters get the by-products of fermentation.
Our Wagyu is Akaushi, which means Red Cow. Akaushi comes from Kumamoto (land of the oysters) and pulled carts in the hilly terrain. They have big shoulders and smaller butts.
The flap is known as "bavette" in Europe. It is part of the flank steak. It is super popular in Columbia, but almost unknown in the US. It is super tender and beautifully marbled, but it doesn't want to be grilled beyond medium rare.
We have California wild salmon from Point Reyes....the season locally is closed....and gorgeous Monterey Halibut
This is our to-go or pickup menu. You can also have a catered meal in our garden on Sundays from noon onwards, with music by Rick Chelew from 2pm to 6pm. You can also dine in the garden by appointment Wednesday through Sunday.

Until Commodore Perry, four legged animals were rarely eaten...they did the work. Kobe steers hauled freight, so had big shoulders and big butts. And, no...they aren't feed beers.
We have California wild salmon from Point Reyes....the season locally is closed....we are waiting on Monterey Halibut
This is our to-go or pickup menu. You can also have a catered meal in our garden on Sundays from our catering menu: noon onwards, with music by Rick Chelew from 2pm to 6pm. You can also dine in the garden by appointment Wednesday through Sunday.

And, no...they aren't feed beers. The Kirin brewery is in Kobe, and the critters get the by-products of fermentation. Our Wagyu is Akaushi, which means Red Cow.
